Shiro Kuramata and Shizuoka Exhibition
Shiro Kuramata and Shizuoka had a close relationship.
From the mid-1960s to the 1980s, he worked on numerous commercial spaces in Shizuoka.
The exhibition will showcase Shiro Kuramata’s work, using photographs and other materials uncovered in the course of Shizuoka City Museum of Art’s research.
COMBLE, located near the Shizuoka City Museum of Art, is one of the few remaining examples of Kuramata’s spaces that can be experienced.
Also on display will be five chairs produced under the “Furniture Production Area Image Enhancement Project” sponsored by Shizuoka City in 1988.
