Since the work was to be exhibited outdoors at the Akasaka Ark Karajan Plaza, it needed to be rainproof. Therefore, the work was made of titanium, which is resistant to rust. The color was created using titanium’s natural coloring technique, and the manufacturing plant was in Tsubame-Sanjo. Tsubame-Sanjo was a region where punching presses flourished, which inspired the idea for the frying pan. Taking advantage of titanium’s ability to change color when heated, and by drilling holes in it to make it even lighter, a chair like a frying pan was born.
